Mission Statement

SPI’s mission is to collect evidence to aid the understanding of paranormal phenomena and will be obtained though scientific investigation, research, and documentation. However, SPI do recognise that not all paranormal occurrences can be explained by pure science and as a result of combine science with a more metaphysical approach. Although based in Scotland, SPI welcomes and encourages input and inquiries from around the United Kingdom.

While SPI investigate either public or private sites, they treat each investigation with professionalism, respect for both the deceased and the living, and attempt to perform the research in a discreet manner so there is no disruption to regular activities or add to already emotional upset due to existing paranormal events or scare away customers.

SPI respect the fact we are on either public property or on private property with permission, and treat it as a privilege.

SPI are an insurance covered organisation.

SPI will maintain confidence when asked. During any investigation all SPI members act in a professional, respectful manner. This includes appropriate dress, language, and behaviour. There will be no use of alcohol or drugs prior or during any investigation.

SPI do not enter an investigation with preconceived ideas or prejudices. We take all information presented, research the location, people and events as fully as possible as well and interpret actual information gathered during the investigation.

SPI are open to all possibilities as they approach each investigation with an objective mind…NO one knows exactly, precisely what causes paranormal phenomena By putting aside any personal beliefs can they gather and more importantly evaluate data in an objective and scientifically oriented manner.

SPI have collected a large stock of state of the art monitoring, measuring and surveillance equipment over the years. The equipment used is uniquely selected to perform and collect evidence best suited for individual locations. It ranges from visual, audio, temperature, magnetic fields, humidity, motion and of course personal senses.

All recordings and the subsequent results are carefully monitored during the investigation, and many hours are spent after an investigation, analysing the evidence before providing the location managers with a recording of the night’s events.

SPI are a research organisation and as such cannot ‘catch ghosts’ or claim to stop any phenomena you may be experiencing. However, they are available to help you understand the phenomena you may be experiencing, answers questions and provide support.
