The Equipment We Use

During investigations we set up a base station that we man throughout the event. At this station we run a DVR system that is capable of running 8 cameras and our wireless camera system that is connected to a TV and video recorder. The base station serves as our “home” for the night and can be used as a resting point in between vigils and for reviewing some of the audio during the base station rotation.

The 8 cameras f that work in conjunction with the DVR system are all night vision IR cameras that allow us to monitor areas of interest throughout the investigation, whether there are team members at that location or not.

The wireless camera system works in the same way but the use of these cameras can be very limited depending on the location and the distance from the base station and the placement of the camera.

Handheld video cameras that can operate in low light situations and handheld stills cameras are also used. These are used for monitoring teams during vigils throughout the investigation.

We also have a range of monitoring equipment designed to take different types of readings both as baseline readings and throughout the investigations, these include EMF meters and digital thermometers. We also have several digital voice recorders, which ca be placed at a location where there is a lot of noise and during EVP sessions. We also routinely use trigger objects, these are objects we position and leave them alone either for a set period of time or for the entire investigation. Part of the setup of these includes setting up a camera to monitor the trigger objects for the entire time they are in position. Trigger objects can be any number of items. The most common items we tend to use are coins, however the objects can depend on the location and if there are objects moving around a lot at the location.
